Largest-Ever Indigenous Australian Art Exhibition to Tour United States from 2025The exhibition, titled The Stars We Do Not See: Australian Indigenous Art, is set to premiere in Washington, D.C. on 18 October 2025, and will travel to several prestigious venues across the U.S. and Canada, including the Denver Art Museum, Portland Art Museum, Peabody Essex Museum, and the Royal Ontario Museum. Papulankutja Artists: Aboriginal Art in the Ngaanyatjarra Lands

Papulankutja Artists Papulankutja (Blackstone) is a remote Aboriginal Community, located at the foothills of the Blackstone Ranges within the Ngaanyatjarra Lands. It is about 900 kms west of Alice Springs, 1575 kms north east of Perth and 205kms west of Warburton. Like many Aboriginal art centres in Central Australia, Papulankutja Artists evolved out of the Women's Centre where painting was encouraged as an activity since 2001.

Their deep knowledge of the land, sea, and sky is reflected in oral histories passed down through generations. Stories of Kubirri, the Caretaker spirit, describe how this ancestral figure taught essential survival skills and continues to guide and protect the people and their environment.
