The artist has represented the patterns of the landscape associated to their country and to their Jukurrpa. Yuendumu is located 290 km north west of Alice Springs where sand storms and whirly-whirly (mini tornados) are a frequent occurrence in the country.

Roseanne Napangardi Wheeler was born in Alice Springs Hospital, the closes hospital to Yuendumu, a remote Aboriginal community 290 km from Alice Springs in the Northern Territory of Australia. She was raised in Yuendumu, where she attended the local school. Roseanne now lives in Nyirripi, an outstation 150 km west of Yuendumu. Roseanne has been painting with Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation, an Aboriginal owned and governed Art Centre in Yuendumu since 2006. She paints her mother’s and her father’s Jukurrpa stories, Dreamings which relate to her land, its features and the plants and animals that live on it. She particularly likes to paint her mina Mina Jukurrpa which is significant to napangardi/Napanangka women and Japangardi/Japanangka men. All of them are the custodians of the Jukurrpa that created the area west of Yuendumu. When Roseanne is not painting she likes to go hunting with her family for goanna and for bushtucker such as Wanakiji (Bush Tomato) and Ngalajiyi (Bush Carrot).
